Livicated the story of roger steffens reggae archives and bob marley collection
For over 25 years, LIVICATED follows Roger Steffens on his mission to transform the world’s largest reggae archive that’s preserved in his basement in L.A. into a museum in Jamaica… before it disappears forever.

Filling an entire floor of his house, and several warehouses around town, Roger has curated over 500,000 items, telling the complete history of Jamaican reggae music.
Outtakes, event posters, rare vinyl pressings, unreleased recordings, unpublished photos, and signed one of a kind items- making it the most valuable and important collection of reggae music history in existence. There is no other collection like this on earth.

Through unreleased footage, musical performances, and never before seen interviews, “LIVICATED” takes you into the heart of reggae culture, and its struggle to survive a modern landscape. After several years of potential deals to move the archive to Jamaica falling through, Roger decides to go to Jamaica in a final attempt to create a reggae museum.

Only one thing stands in the way - Jamaica’s dislike of the revolutionary lyrics of roots reggae music; lyrics that place reggae in opposition to those in power, who ironically advertise Bob Marley and One Love for tourist dollars while rejecting its culture. Prevalent everywhere, except Jamaican radio, reggae has spread to every corner of the globe and its popularity continues to grow.

“LIVICATED” features interviews with Carlos Santana, Neville Garrick, Ben Harper, David Hinds, Mutabaruka, Cindy Breakespeare, Allan “Skill” Cole, Earl “Chinna” Smith, and Colin Leslie, and includes rare and unreleased Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Jimmy Cliff, The Wailers, Joseph Hill and many others with a unique access into the world of reggae, and it’s fight to survive.
